Cost: $40.00 per household. \nExperience the thrill of making sushi – it’s an art form as well as a treat for your taste buds. Expert sushi Chef Tommy Begay III\, will guide you step-by-step and share his secrets to making the seasoned rice that’s the foundation for deliciousness. Great sushi starts with the rice and the process to attaining that perfection takes sushi chefs a long time to master. Chef Tommy’s rice training lasted a year. \nOn the menu: Vegetable Rolls using nori seaweed sheets and the two sushi mats we’re giving you\, and Shrimp Nigiri\, an oval-shaped mound of rice with a boiled shrimp on top. The word nigiri comes from the Japanese nigirizushi\, which translates as “hand-pressed sushi.” We’ll also have the classic sushi accompaniments of soy and ponzu sauces\, wasabi and pickled ginger. \nCLASS NOTES: This is a cook along class offered live via the Zoom app. You’ll receive an email with recipes\, class details and sushi mats pickup (shipping available for an extra charge) 5 days in advance.
