Cost: $75.00 each.   \nBecome a rockstar cookier by learning how to decorate them like a pro! Magic Spoons master baker and decorator Patricia Ordoñez Beattie will make it easy by sharing her secrets and tips as well as guide you step-by-step making Valentine-themed hearts and lips. \nYou’ll learn how to make the perfect cut-out sugar cookies that don’t spread\, how to roll to the perfect thickness\, and cutting the shapes. Then making the best foolproof royal icing\, everything about food coloring\, thinning icing into three consistencies and assembling a decorating bag.     \nThen it’s fun time piping lines\, flooding – spreading the icing over the cookie until it reaches the piped outlines – and wet-on-wet – piping on top of the base layer while it’s still wet. There are sprinkles\, too. \nYou’ll decorate 6 cookies in class and take home 6 undecorated cookies along with a kit containing white\, pink and red royal icing and sprinkles.   \nCLASS NOTES: The in-person class\, limited to 16\, will be held at the Catalina United Methodist Church kitchen\, 2700 E. Cost: $80.00 each.  \nIn celebration of the University of Arizona Museum of Art’s (UAMA) The Art of Food: From the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation exhibition\, and in collaboration with UAMA\, create your own edible masterpiece with El Charro Café Chef and food artist Miguel Heredia. \nOn the menu in this hands-on class: Flourless Chocolate Coffee Torte with a Mirror Glaze finish\, and the ingredients providing taste\, texture and color to decorate your plate: Chocolate Sand\, Crème Anglaise\, Raspberry Sauce\, Pulverized Almond Brittle\, Raspberry Caviar and Sugar Shards.     \nYou’ll work in groups of two or three preparing the components\, then let your inner artist loose for your custom finishing. Zoom cost: $40.00 per household. \nLet’s go roaring into the Year of the Tiger with Chef Devon Sanner in a fun hands-on or Zoom cook along class making three authentic dishes – Duck Spring Rolls\, Yusheng/Lo Hei Toss Salad and Crispy Cantonese Pork Belly. The message for 2022 is: 虎虎生威: Wishing you fullness of the vigor and vitality of the tiger. \nSpring rolls are a popular new year dish – they represent gold bars symbolizing wealth and are eaten around the world\, especially in regions south of the Yangtze River. \nYusheng/Lo Hei\, a prosperity salad\, started in the Chinese communities in Malaysia and Singapore. Once the dish is ready\, everyone joins in to toss the Yusheng/Lo Hei in the air with their chopsticks! \nCrispy Cantonese Pork Belly is enjoyed throughout Asia during the holidays but especially for the new year. Learn to create your favorite rolls with high-quality choices to make you a sushi artist. Sushi on Oracle Chef/Partner Tommy Begay III will guide you step-by-step and share his secrets from making the seasoned rice\, lining the nori sheets\, topping with ingredients and perfecting the rolling. \nOn the menu: Veggie Rolls using nori seaweed sheets and the sushi mat we’re giving you; Tamagoyaki Temaki Zushi\, cone-shaped hand-rolled sushi filled with the slightly sweet and custardy texture Japanese rolled omelet resembling mini bars of golden pillows; and Shrimp Nigiri\, an oval-shaped mound of rice with a boiled shrimp on top.
