Michael Elefante – Executive Chef/Co-owner, Mama Louisa’s
A Tucson native who literally grew up in the Mama Louisa’s kitchen, Chef Michael Elefante, as far back as he can remember, was helping both his grandfather and father make pasta, pizza and sauce.
Seeking more culinary world experience, in 2010 Chef Michael joined The Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain team, moving up numerous ranks and through many kitchens, including Chef de Partie at Cayton’s Burger Bistro and mastering fine-dining preparation, the art of seasoning and sauces, as well as the art of plating.
In 2014, he returned to Mama Louisa’s, modernizing the old-world traditions and cuisine by creating a two-part menu: The Heritage Menu with all the classic dishes they’re known for and The Third Generation Menu featuring Chef Michael’s updated culinary concepts reflecting his own take on the restaurant’s fresh, homemade cuisine.
When not in the kitchen, he can be found watching Food Network, where in September 2020 he appeared on the popular show, “Guy’s Grocery Games,” and spending time with his wife and daughter.
