If chiles rellenos aren’t part of your holiday table, now’s the perfect time to cook with Chef Devon Sanner and master his unique and yummy take on the traditional poblano pepper classic.
On the menu: Holiday butternut squash chiles rellenos with apples and raisins en nogada. Nogada, a creamy walnut sauce, is believed to have been created in 1821 by the grateful people of Puebla, Mexico who were giving a banquet in honor of Don Agustin de Iturbide’s saint’s day. All the dishes featured the colors of the Mexican flag – green chilies, the white sauce and red pomegranate seeds as garnish.
